Trekking Adventure

Following a trip to the Cameron Highlands, the trekking bug had bitten.  Good thing too, because I had a trek to a waterfall planned for the weekend!

The Trek, a 10km Adventure

We (myself, and two others) made a an early(ish) start Sunday morning.  Packing snacks, water and lunch before we hit the trail.  The first inkling that this would be another challenging trek came right before we reached the first hill station, which involved a steep hike down into a valley.

A Small Shrine Near Hill Station 3

From hill station 1 we had a steep hike up through stop 3, 3A (there is a strange superstition so 4 is usually skipped), and 6 before turning onto the waterfall trail.

Finally at Station 6, or the top!

If the first hike was steep, this was even steeper!  Luckily we made it!  From there I was able to cool off in the waterfall and we enjoyed a heart lunch of sandwiches and salad.

With lunch complete, it was time to hike up the waterfall path, which I felt was easier than going down.  From the top, we made our way back down through stations 5 and 2 before once again climbing up and over the small starting hill.

At the end of the trek, we indulged in some refreshing tender coconut to counteract all of the exertion and sweat!  While it was a challenging trail, sitting the water to cool off and feeling the pounding waterfall on my back was well worth the trek.

Finally the Waterfall!

Food!

To counteract all of the trekking and miles and miles of walking, I made sure to try a variety of foods, both Malaysian and the fusions! I was most impressed by just how cheap eating out was.  One of my lunches cost me only 2 RM, which is approximately 50 cents.  If you consider yourself a foodie, I would strongly recommend a trip to Malaysia, you won’t regret it!
