I have officially been in India for seven months, I have spent the most time in Mysore. Between two full months of yoga classes and four months of family time, it is the city I have become most comfortable in. Sometime in mid-December, when I decided to extend my trip, I had no idea just how long I would end up here. Well, I still may not know exactly how long I will be in India, but I do know that I am putting down roots. For the next ten months, I will be teaching Pre-K in Mysore.
I am really looking forward to this amazing opportunity teaching in a school again! These past few months have made it very clear , that I have chosen the right career. Far from being homesick, I have missed interacting with children in a classroom. I have missed the joy of being around children all day, listening to their stories and watching as they discover the world around them. I am so excited to be back in the classroom and around children again. It will be interesting to see how schools are different, and how they are the same on the opposite side of the globe. For all of my teaching friends, I would love to connect my new classroom with a few pen pals in the future!
Settling In
The second major step is, I have settled into a place of my own! While I am currently lacking a few things, I am slowly settling into my new surroundings.
Both of these steps mean that I am open to visitors here in Mysore, as long as you don’t mind roughing it a bit! I can promise a bed to sleep on and coffee in the morning. As well as excellent company for all those who visit! I am so excited to see where this path will lead, and I hope that you will continue to follow along!
