It should come as no surprise, that I am impatiently and anxiously waiting to embark, however, there is still so much to do between now and take-off. In an effort to focus on being present in the moment, I came up with a list of goals for the next two months.
First on the list was to begin a couch to 5k, and complete a 5k. Yes, that’s right, I decided I was going to run. This momentary lapse in judgement stuck, and I signed up for a race, I was in it! Encouraged by my race buddy, (and the Backstreet Boys), I set out, gaining confidence with every run. Two weeks in, I realized that just completing the race wasn’t enough, I wanted to RUN!
Race day was Thursday, and I am proud to share that I accomplished my goal! I completed a 5K, in 36 minutes, which means that I ran most of it! Not bad for someone who only took up running a month ago. Of course now the question is, what comes next? I have a new goal, I want to run a my next 5k (!!) in under 35 minutes. I guess this means that I am a runner now!
